Today I'm glad to say that my latest painting "Bench At Bayne has been posted on
my site, and that I've made the deadline to put it in the show, "Views
Of Bellevue" at my local art center. What I don't like was that I had to
"blow off" (I'm being honest) my blog and my newsletter on Sunday as a
result.
We are going through the period at my day job where people are going
back to school so I have to do the work of two people and it proved to
be too much some nights with taking [...]
Today I have for you another update on my painting for the "Views Of
Bellevue" art show. I wanted to post a couple of times this weekend but
Mother Nature had other plans as I ended up having a root canal Friday
evening. Not the way I wanted to spend the weekend, dealing with the
resulting pain but it was something that I had to do. I was going
through a tube of "Anbolsol" (or however it's spelled) a day before and
it was affecting my sleep at night.
Anyway back to the art , I was able to paint again Sunday and [...]
The other day I mentioned posting photos of where I am on my painting
for the "Views Of Bellevue" art show. Today is the first photo showing
you what has been done on the painting so far.
You can see that the sky and large foliage clumps have been painted
and the patterns of light and dark on the grass areas have been made.
The rough form of the library is in and doesn't need much more as the
trees end up covering most of it. The white shape to the left of the big
tree trunk in the middle is where the bench [...]
As you know from the other day, I'm working on paintings for an upcoming
art show in my town. Well after stopping in at the center yesterday I
found that artists can only submit one painting not two as I thought.
I'll now focus on my painting of the park bench with the library in the
background. I'm still going to do the other one I was planning of
Bellevue Avenue at a later date.
As for progress on the painting for the show, I have the basic color
of the library on along with the rough window shapes. Tonight after work
I plan on blocking [...]
About three days ago I realized that there was an art show that
completely slipped my mind. In my studio to the left of my computer
table, I have a list of all the art shows at our local art center. There
is a group show opening September the 5th, called "Views of Bellevue"
meaning that the art depicts my hometown of Bellevue.
To the left of my computer table I had the list of shows right on the
wall but didn't really read it as carefully as I should have. My excuse
is that I was "too organized". Just kidding, I need to [...]
