On Tuesday night, our nation elected a new leader. Regardless of who you voted for (and you did vote I hope!), we have something different.
We have two wars, a bad economy, and many other concerns facing this country. We can make the choice to focus on that or be optimistic and focus on the potential for good. Some might say, "what good?"
For starters, people are still spending money but making sure they get a high "value" out of what they are spending it on. That alone is great news for artists that are able to explain to prospective collectors the fact that the art you purchase can be handed down through generations. The art itself may or may not go up in "value", but the value of that art within that family is tremendous.
Another thing is that Washington will be different and there will be a sense of "not letting the American people down" as new people come to work next year. I feel that this will increase peoples confidence in spending more as a sign of renewed trust and faith in our economy.
The final point I want to make is that "different is different". How often in life do we become bored as we face the same things day in and day out? Notice how your mood improves when you finally clean out the garage and see that nice open, shiny, and clean floor. Notice how when you paint a room how the atmosphere of that room improves.
To sum it up, we can choose to be different any time we want. We can choose that people will still invest in value. We can choose to be optimistic about our new government coming in. We can choose to be positive in general. I feel it's a much better way to go through life then being angry, fearful, and doubting. That's it for today, I'll see you again this weeekend, take care!
