I was going to make this post yesterday as planned but it was just too nice a day be inside the house all day with winter right around the bend. I was able to talk to Sue Matthews on Saturday, and my turn in the "Lincoln Avenue" window will be this January. I'm really looking forward to starting the year off with a way to show the community my work as well as my message that you should all know by now. Affordable, ready to hang, frame matches painting, and of course commissions done from photo.
The bad news is that I won't be having a full show at Matthews next year as it has been filled already by other local artists. I think that shows how art is really taking off in Bellevue as people who have painted for a number of years know they have a "gallery" here of sorts to promote themselves to people in the area for a month. The good news is that I have many options to choose from in 2010! (LOL)
On the artwork side of things I got a good bit done on my commissioned work this weekend. As you recall, I finished the sky area and removed my contact paper and masking tape to leave me with my drawing unaffected. I started adding color to the objects in the painting to see where I wanted to go with adding depth by making some colors darker, or lighter.
Things are clicking right now and that's a good thing. I'm going to try to wrap up "Bellevue Avenue" by the weekend so I can have it in the newsletter this Sunday for you. If you haven't subscribed to my newsletter "Pats Framed Oil Painting News", you can by clicking on the link at the bottom. It comes out every other Sunday and includes a "readers forum" where you can share your art related information with the other readers. That's it for today, take care and I'll see you again in a few days.
