As you know from the other day, I'm working on paintings for an upcoming art show in my town. Well after stopping in at the center yesterday I found that artists can only submit one painting not two as I thought. I'll now focus on my painting of the park bench with the library in the background. I'm still going to do the other one I was planning of Bellevue Avenue at a later date.
 
  As for progress on the painting for the show, I have the basic color of the library on along with the rough window shapes. Tonight after work I plan on blocking in some of the tree shapes and the foreground as well. I think that this composition will allow me to really make this painting "3-D" with the bench and tree in the front and the library behind the other trees in the back. For the first time I think I'm going to try something for you. I'm going to post in my blog photos of where I am with the painting so far. I'll put them to the left here where you see my business logo now. I know some artists do this and I have been on both sides of the fence, but feel that this is a good time to show people how one of my paintings comes together.

  One idea keeps coming to mind and the more I think about it the better it sounds. When I have my next show at the center next year, why not have a theme or series instead of just, heres my 20 latest paintings. The "views of Bellevue" show that I'm painting for now I think inspired me. I might even decide to have my own "Bellevue paintings" show if the people from my town respond well to this show during next month which I think they will.
