About three days ago I realized that there was an art show that completely slipped my mind. In my studio to the left of my computer table, I have a list of all the art shows at our local art center. There is a group show opening September the 5th, called "Views of Bellevue" meaning that the art depicts my hometown of Bellevue.
To the left of my computer table I had the list of shows right on the wall but didn't really read it as carefully as I should have. My excuse is that I was "too organized". Just kidding, I need to put it into my daily planner so things like this don't "come at me" with a month to go as this is a show where I wanted to have some time to work with.
Here is what I intend to do. I already went out yesterday with my camera taking advantage of the nice sunny day and got some great photos. I went through them on my computer when I got home and selected two that I think will be nice effective paintings that I can do at my top quality level by the deadline, frame and all. Without wasting any time, I went to the local art store (yes, in Pittsburgh we have a chain of art supply stores open on Sunday!) and got myself two nice canvases. By the end of the night I had a finished drawing on each.
I'll be keeping you updated on how I'm making out on both of these paintings. You might even find me leaving posts on here, on back to back days this month sometimes. We'll see what happens, take care.
