Now that the weather is nice I'm looking forward to getting back out on the trails. As many of you know this is where I take most of my own reference photos. Speaking of which, I noticed how much digital cameras have come down in price. For what I paid to get a nice 4 megapixel camera you can now get an 8 megapixel or better! I might get one so I can get that two camera "back-up" thing going this summer.
When I'm out on the trail I relax and focus on the beauty of mother nature as I haed out on my route for that day. I like to go on a parks "perimeter" trail which is the loop that makes its way around the whole park. I park my car in a way so that I go into the woods close to it on one side, and finish up coming out near it on the other side. Two examples of paintings done from photos taken from hikes include
Mcconnell's Mills, and
Summer Glory.
When the mural is done I'll come up with my gameplan for the year as far as places and trail I haven't been on yet. I'm also thinking about painting on location while out on the trail. I think it would be nice to "record some stuff with small studys and turn them into larger studio works.
That all for now, leave your comments as always and I'll see you again on Friday, take care.
