Today after work I was thinking of ways to improve my "routine" when it comes to painting. I have tossed around ideas for months as to how to maximize my chances to produce new artwork at a more consistent pace. I have decided to try one of them and see what happens. Instead of taking care of my "computer stuff" in the morning before work, I am going to paint in the mornings and do my business tasks after work. One of these things is the blog so look for my posts to come in the evenings now instead of early in the morning, such as this one.
I think that this will be an excellent way to "program" myself to what I want in the future and that is to do my artwork full time for a living. I always feel like painting in the early morning more than any other time of the day so that is how I would structure my day if I was doing it full time anyway. The only thing that I have a concern over is getting into a nice flow and then looking up at the clock and seeing that it is time to get ready to leave for work. I think the positive will outway the negative as I can always look forward to returning on it in the evening.
I would love to hear some ideas and thoughts from other artists that work for a consistent income while building their art career. Please feel free to leave your posts with whatever is on your mind. Thats all for now, I'll see you on Friday.
