Yesterday on Mother's Day, I was able to finish my latest framed oil painting Summer Glory 3. The weather outside was a little chilly but just right for me to get a photo of the painting and post it on my website.
This "Summer Glory" series has been a blast for me as all of these paintings capture my feelings of being out on the trail on a hot sunny summer day. The dark shadowed area is ending up ahead and you walk out into an area lit up by sunshine and then back out of it.
Speaking of trails, I have a good friend in Vermont that keeps telling me that if I love the trails around here, wait until I come up and see what Vermont has to offer. I'm going to take him up on it at some point and make sure that I got a big old memory stick for the camera when I do!
Getting back to the paintings. I have two other landscapes going and plan on having another "Summer Glory" painting done as well for my show in July. I'm going to have to put the brush down at some point in late June to do some framing and to promote the show.
I forgot to mention that I also will be showing my paintings again at the Greenstone Church in Avalon at their "Strawberry Festival" in June. I had a good time there last year and look forward to seeing some of my collectors and meeting some new people as well. This arts and crafts show is on Friday June 11th and Saturday June 12th. I'll be sure to keep you posted as I get more details. That's all I got for today so take care and have a great day!
