This is my latest painting Summer Glory 2 and it is now on my website. I believe that I have a series on my hands. This painting continues the journey started with Summer Glory. As you may know by now when I'm not painting, I'm hiking trails. One of the things that I enjoy the most is when the sun lights up an area right in front of me while I'm still walking up to it from a dark shadowed area. This is where Summer Glory came to be from, a photo from one of my hikes in North Park. The latest painting Summer Glory 2 is just me and my imagination continuing the journey.
The question is, where does the journey go from here? The best part is that I really don"t know. I'm just going to feel and hopefully I'll keep striking gold with each one that I do. What I do know is that I have many, many, mental images in my head from all my years of hiking so It's just a matter of choosing which one goes with what I've painted on the canvas so far. Maybe the trail will go up hill or downhill. Maybe I'll do a vertical painting with tall long tress. Once again it's the irony of artwork, you know but you don't know.
One thing that I do know is that these paintings will be at my show this July at Matthews Art's in Bellevue. Most of the paintings at this show will have trails in them and I'm looking forward to opening night and meeting people. One thing that never gets old is when someone looks at one of my paintings that came from my imagination and they tell me it looks like a place from their life that they have seen!
That's it for today, I hope you click on one of the links to see Summer Glory 2 and Summer Glory if you've never seen that one before. Take care and have a great day!
