As you know, I'll be having my next art show at Matthew's Arts in Bellevue this July so the push is on to produce some new artworks for it. One of those paintings "Sunset Trail" just came out of my studio this weekend.
I'm working on another painting right now "Summer Glory 2" which is also going to be at the show and it's coming along nicely. The painting "Rachel Carson Footbridge" that you may remember me talking about in my last newsletter is dry enough for me to tackle the shadow areas on the bridge so that should be on my website soon as well.
I've been asked by some people about when my "Marc Andre Fleury Painting will be done. To be honest it has taken a backseat to my landscape work right now but I do want to finish it in the near future so that it can be in the show for everyone to see. Maybe the Penguins will help me out by having a long run in the playoffs again to keep Marc Andre in the public eye, we'll see what happens!
The artwork is one thing, framing the paintings is another but I can handle that when the weather warms up in a couple of months. I paint all my frames to match my paintings and trust me, you don't want to spray paint outside in cold winter weather ( don't ask me how I know that! ). My hope is to have enough paintings that I get to have the awesome task of picking which ones are in and which ones are out. It would be like an artistic American Idol maybe!
The other concern I have for this show is promoting it to people. My last show at Matthew's was in the winter and this one will be at the height of summer when people are up and about so I have to come up with my game plan for that.
I'm right on track so far, but I know that July will be here before I know it so I need to keep pushing and keep sharing with you how I'm coming along. That's it for today, take care!
