In order to service my website visitors the best, I have my e-mail address at the bottom of all my pages. If someone is interested in my work I don't want them to have to "click around" to get in touch with me. I love to go to my inbox and correspond with other webmasters about link exchanges as well as questions from possible collectors about my artwork. The only bad thing is of course all of those people sending their spam. My favorite type has "Hi Pat" in the subject line being sent from what appears to be a "normal" first and last name. When you open it a normal letter pops up for 2 seconds and then disappears to be replaced by an ad for a software package. They are nice enough to put the original letter at the bottom of the ad if you want to read it. They change the subject line and name each day to make you think it is something else but it's not. I got to thinking why let these people have all the fun. I don't have much free time these days and I surely don't want to waste it with these people, but at the same time I do value a sense of humor in these stressful times. I wonder what their reaction would be if a replied with a small letter and then have it jump to the most bizarre image of an ad I could find on the net. Would they stop or get mad and try to send me even more, I don't know. We don't even need to go over the scam e-mails that artists get daily, they must not think artists are that bright. Anyway I just thought I would provide a little fun for everyone going into the weekend. Leave me a post on what you think about spam, funny or otherwise. Do you think new laws should be passed for example and what do you think would work or not work. Please let me know and as always, take care, have a great day and enjoy this holiday weekend.
